What happens when you get Michelle McLean from ConSentry Networks, Mike Rothman from Security Incite, Alan Shimel from StillSecure, Dominic Wilde from Nevis Networks together? The answer is a rather engaging give and take about network access control between four very outspoken people.

The podcast runs about 50 minutes. It's a good snapshot about how these particular vendors are thinking about NAC and some insight about what their customers are doing.

These folks didn't agree on much including the definition of NAC, the value of industry analysts, and where the market stands. About 20 minutes in, McLean, talking about enforcement mechanisms, Shimel leads toward discussion to the differences between using network mechanisms like VLAN steering, ACLs, etc versus on-line firewalls and then they go onto discuss/debate host assessment methods.
