Riverbed has appointed Andres Hurtado as sales director, Latin America

SAN FRANCISCO -- Riverbed Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:RVBD), the performance leader in wide-area data services (WDS), announced today that it has appointed Andres Hurtado as sales director, Latin America. Hurtado will be responsible for expanding the companys network of reseller partners and leading sales efforts throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Hurtado, who is based in Riverbed’s Miami office, has a 20-year record of driving strong sales for such technology companies as Network Appliance, Legato Systems, and IBM.

Hurtado joins Riverbed from Network Appliance, where as director of sales he opened the Latin American market and rapidly grew revenue. He established sales offices in five countries and developed a robust network of channel partners, VARs, distributors, and integrators. At Legato Systems, where he was sales manager, channel partners – Latin America, Hurtado developed and managed channel sales operations. He also held a series of increasingly senior sales executive positions during his decade at IBM.
