February 21, 2007
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Packeteer (NASDAQ: PKTR), the global leader in WAN Application Optimization, today announced the availability of its Mobiliti 7.0 solution that integrates the company's Mobiliti and SkyX technologies to deliver the first mobile / Small Office Home Office (SOHO) computing software package for file and TCP-based application acceleration, and automatic desktop data backup. Packeteer's Mobiliti 7.0 solution also provides offline access to centralized file servers by automatically caching recently used file shares so remote users have anytime, anywhere data access even in the absence of a network connection. With this release, Packeteer now further extends its reach beyond the branch office to provide accelerated, LAN-like access and security with 100 percent Microsoft compatibility across a wider range of business critical, TCP-based applications for mobile and SOHO users everywhere. "Today's corporate users must be able to work wherever the demands of their businesses lead them and enterprises are learning that they must provide these "roaming" users with LAN-like access to a complete set of applications and services or risk lost productivity and business," said Dave Côté, CEO of Packeteer. "The release of our Mobiliti 7.0 software successfully integrates two of our most compelling technologies into a single software platform that enables acceleration for the widest range of applications in the industry, giving mobile users the ability to perform at the same speed and level of productivity as their branch office and corporate headquarter counterparts."
