EBusiness Applications Inc. has released an upgrade of an Ajax-based component that can be used to create dynamic spreadsheet-like user interfaces inside a Web application.

EBA Grid Version 3 is a cross-platform application meant to save developers time in building software for the Web. EBusiness, based in Canada, specializes in Ajax-based tools. Ajax is a method of development that uses asynchronous JavaScript and XML to build Web interfaces that act like desktop applications.

Grid V3 includes an application-programming interface for integration with an existing Web application. The component provides, among other features, the ability to scroll through large datasets, to sort data in ascending or descending order and to copy and paste into Microsoft Excel.

In addition, the component provides in-place cell editing, keyboard navigation, a configurable toolbar and the ability to automatically save user entry changes back to a database.

Released this week, Grid V3 is available for free trial download.
