CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Packeteer (NASDAQ:PKTR), the global leader in WAN Application Optimization, today announced that Houston-based NetVersant Solutions, the leading provider of comprehensive and integrated converging IT solutions, has rolled out a broad-scale deployment of its iShared appliances nationwide. By deploying iShared appliances in its 22 Customer Service Centers, NetVersant has replaced its aging file and print servers, thereby eliminating recurring software license and upgrade costs, simplifying security management, reducing backup and recovery complexity, and intelligently accelerating and standardizing file sharing across a geographically distributed organization.

NetVersant’s project portfolio ranges from single-site installation and maintenance, to multi-site, multi-platform deployments for secure data centers, call centers, airports and hospitals, as well as large retail, government and commercial facilities. Growing demand for these broad capabilities and the onset of IP convergence have triggered NetVersant’s rapid growth and established it as the industry leader and innovator.

“To support NetVersant’s geographically diverse workforce, the company has made a considerable investment in remote office and job site infrastructure,” said Brad Hudak, NetVersant’s director of information technology. “Most notably are the file and print servers, related software licenses, and backup and recovery systems. The company has also seen a marked increase in collaborative data sharing across our four converging lines of business.”
