Mobility Project, Everyone.net Offer Secure On-The-Go Email

The Mobility Project and Everyone.net on Wednesday launched an email client and service that can be carried on a portable USB memory stick for added security and accessed through any PC.

The new service called MobilityEmail.net is meant to provide added protection against identity theft for people who use shared computers. Because no data leaves the memory stick, and no browser is used in accessing the email service provided by Everyone.net, no information related to the user is left on a computer.

The service uses the mobile email client developed by the Mobility Project, which makes the software available at no charge through its Web site. The new service, which requires an Everyone.net email account, costs $2.08 a month.

Features of MobilityEmail.net include virus and spam protection and 250MB of online storage, which is upgradeable to 1GB. Web mail is also part of the package, incase the email client is unavailable.

The service targets Internet users who go online at libraries, schools and friends' houses.
