REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- Kidaro Inc., a leading provider of enterprise desktop virtualization solutions, today unveiled the Kidaro Desktop DR solution for rapid disaster recovery of employee desktop access. With the Kidaro Desktop DR solution, enterprises can maximize business continuity by distributing corporate-controlled virtual desktops on DVDs, USB drives, or over the Web. Kidaro's virtual desktop platform enables secure employee access to corporate resources and data from their home PCs or recovery center computers. Because the solution runs locally on existing desktop and laptop computers, without expensive server farms, Kidaro Desktop DR provides a cost-effective and secure method for recovery.

Most large enterprises have implemented disaster recovery plans for their mission-critical applications and data centers, but many of these programs fail to plan for rapid recovery of end user desktops, a critical link for insuring business continuity. Even in cases of successful data-center recovery, the need to rebuild and provision hundreds of desktop computers can result in days of additional downtime, cutting the business off from customers, suppliers, and partners.

In the recent Enterprise Management Associates brief - "Reducing Costs and Improving Security Using Local Desktop Virtualization" - EMA's Research Director Andi Mann says: "Desktop virtualization is a rapidly growing technology that can substantially increase flexibility and manageability in enterprise desktop environments." For desktop disaster recovery, "the secure, corporate-controlled desktop can be easily redeployed on almost any system - including home computers or recovery centers - allowing fast and cost-effective continuity for disasters, pandemics, or system failures."
