CA, Carnegie Mellon Search For Best Practices Standards for IT Sourcing

CA has joined Carnegie Mellon University's Information Technology Services Qualification Center Research Consortium to develop best practices standards for sourcing.

The center is developing two complementary eSourcing capability models for service providers and clients who use IT-enabled sourcing services. They include best practices associated with successful sourcing relationships and can help providers and clients identify and assess their abilities to meet best practices standards.

Una O'Neill, senior vice president and general manager of CA's Technology Services said the models will help public and private groups optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of technology solutions and services.

The center is bringing together researchers and practitioners to come up with the models. The consortium is made up of representatives with expertise in standardization, testing and quality certification.
