SAN DIEGO -- BiTMICRO Networks, a pioneer in intelligent flash solid-state drive solutions, announced at the West 2009 event in San Diego, California the first customer shipment of its E-Disk Altima ATA-133 solid state drive (SSD).
Barely two months after releasing the E-Disk® Altima SATA SSD, BiTMICRO now marks the release of the E-Disk® Altima E2A133BL ATA-133 SSD model. This model is primarily targeted to serve the capacity and performance driven applications of the military, aerospace and embedded markets, which include imaging, video-on-demand, database and data recording applications.
BiTMICROs E-Disk® Altima ATA-133 flash SSD offers optimum storage solution to keep up with the rapid increase in the storage capacity requirements and top-speed performance demands of military and industrial applications. This 2.5 solid-state drive utilizes the latest high-density single level cell (SLC) NAND flash memory chips, allowing the model to offer random I/O rates of up to 20,000/sec, burst rates of up to 133 MB/sec, sustained rates of up to 100 MB/sec, and storage capacities of up to 416 GB. Additionally, the E-Disk® Altima ATA-133 model has an operating temperature ranging from 40°C to +85°C, making it ideal for 24x7 deployment in extremely hostile environments.
"It is not an easy task to serve the military and industrial markets as these are obviously highly demanding industries with very specific requirements. BiTMICRO has been servicing this particular niche since it started more than a decade ago, said BiTMICROs EVP for Sales and Marketing Rudy Bruce. As pioneers in this market, we take pride in the quality of our products and the roster of satisfied customers whom we continue to serve, he adds.
