CAMPBELL, Calif. -- APTARE, Inc., a leading provider of Web 2.0-based enterprise storage reporting and management software, today announced the general availability of its APTARE StorageConsole® 6.5 and new APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager product. The company has a long history of providing world-class storage reporting solutions to organizations of all sizes and its newest release expands its product line into the realm of storage capacity management.

APTARE's StorageConsole 6.5 is a cost-effective, agent-less platform leveraging all of the interactive, customizable benefits of Web 2.0 architecture. It provides a bridged platform that supports all of APTARE's products, integrating backup reporting and storage capacity management into a single web console optimized to enable enterprises to improve their storage utilization and reduce costs.

APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager, the latest addition under the company's StorageConsole 6.5 platform, provides information previously unattainable from any array vendor. Using APTARE StorageConsole Capacity Manager, administrators can get a 360-degree view of their storage capacity utilization -- from the hosts, applications, and storage arrays -- through comprehensive reports. With these real-time views into actual capacity, organizations are able to allocate storage more efficiently to maximize its usage and significantly reduce the need for additional future storage.

"Enterprises are starting to realize the costs associated with over-allocating storage that never gets used and can't be reclaimed," said Laura DuBois, research director of Storage Software at IDC. "As a result, IDC expects companies will continue to invest in storage management software that will give them the visibility to maximize their existing SAN storage infrastructure and reduce costs."
