WALTHAM, Mass. -- AmeriVault, a leading provider of remote online data backup, offsite storage, and recovery services, today announced RestartIT-VDR, an advanced disaster recovery service that speeds recovery time while eliminating costs and delays associated with space and hardware sourcing.
Available in late Q4 2007, RestartIT-VDR and the continuity version, RestartIT-HA, will allow SMBs the ability to remotely recover mission critical business systems quickly and cost-effectively in the event of a disaster or outage. While AmeriVault has offered hosted recovery services for years, RestartIT-VDR and RestartIT-HA represent a strategic advantage for SMBs where traditional obstacles to business resumption are removed.
With RestartIT-VDR, an image of a clients server hard drive is maintained in AmeriVault’s virtual server environment. In the event of an outage, the client remotely initiates data recovery from the AmeriVault data vault to the newly created virtual machine. End users are re-routed to access applications and resume business functions.
“AmeriVault’s RestartIT-VDR is a natural outgrowth of online backup,” said Jerome Wendt, Lead Analyst & President, DCIG, Inc. “Used in conjunction with virtual servers, RestartIT-VDR provides businesses an affordable and practical option to immediately recover their application servers without the expense, risk and wait of creating one’s own offsite DR site.”
