BOSTON -- Seanodes, the creator and leading developer of Shared Internal Storage solutions, today announced that ServiSMART, a Portugal-based emerging service provider, has selected Seanodes Shared Internal Storage technology as the virtualized storage platform for its new cloud computing infrastructure.

ServiSMART is an emerging hosted services provider currently in stealth mode founded and managed by a team of experienced executives who formerly worked for some of the largest ISPs in Europe. ServiSMART is creating a fully virtualized Hosted Services/Cloud Computing and ERP Hosted Applications platform for the European market using an off-the-shelf open source Xen solution combined with its ServiSMART Infrastructure. For the storage component of its cloud computing platform ServiSMART has chosen to use the latest product from Seanodes, Exanodes™ VM Edition.

ServiSMART made the decision to go with Seanodes based on the cost, performance and the simplicity of deploying Exanodes VM Edition into a virtualized environment, according to Frederico Marques, CTO of ServiSMART. “After evaluating the Exanodes product we clearly thought that it was the ultimate solution and the only one to build a real storage cloud for our hosted services platform,” said Marques. “In terms of performance and simplicity, this solution is a perfect fit for our Hosted Services/Cloud Computing-Storage platform. And with Exanodes VM Edition we can get the benefits of high-end networked storage for half the cost of an entry-level SATA box.”
