If you manage VMware hosts, keeping on top of them remotely is pretty important. VMware Viewer is a bare-bones viewer only that lets you look at servers and clusters. You can purchase extra modules to manage VM's and snapshots. Others include iVMControl, and vmwClient. Granted, you can't access the console remotely, You can always use PocketCloud or Connect bot to connect.
