AlterPoint DeviceAuthority 1.1

At NetWorld+Interop last month, AlterPoint debuted the newest version of it network infrastructure configuration software, DeviceAuthority 1.1 (see a sneak peek of the beta version). The product now features role-based security, which is essential for sharing access in operational environments; support for additional vendors and devices; and secure access to routers, switches, firewalls and VPN concentrators. The new version also adds support for 10 new vendors, 25 products lines and 75 new models--letting enterprises put all their eggs in a single configuration basket.

Castle Rock Computing SNMPc Workgroup and Enterprise 6.0


Castle Rock Computing's SNMPc 6.0 network-management product addresses both ease-of-use and service-provider concerns. Utilizing tighter integration and better out-of-the-box functionality, SNMPc 6.0 makes it easier to monitor Cisco Systems devices. Additional improvements for service providers include distributed polling, protected narrow WAN bandwidth and support for management of networks with duplicate IP address domains. The server can run as an unattended service, allowing for more secure distributed deployments.

F5 Networks iControl Services Manager

Network infrastructures that rely on F5 devices should find useful the company's new iControl Services Manager, a centralized administration and management tool. IController, which which works with all F5 IP network-traffic devices, serves as a secure proxy for granting granular permissions and making audit changes. Neon Software LANsurveyor 7.1
Neon Software has released its first version of LANsurveyor for Microsoft Windows environments. This network-management tool provides views of all IP-based network hardware, including desktops, servers, printers and infrastructure components. Reports can include more than 100 different pieces of information and can be exported to and viewed in Excel. Remote administration is done through the Neon Responder, which includes options for configuring and managing connected computers.
