What will most likely happen: E-Voting will finally receive the scrutiny it should have received before the last election.

What I wish would happen: Microsoft releases it's latest version of Windows, essentially porting the entire collection of Windows APIs to Linux. The first of several class action lawsuits are filed the same day.

Darryl DukeWhat will most likely happen: Further migration from private Frame-Relay and ATM to Carrier provisioned MPLS.

What I wish would happen: Power Line Modems everywhere, forget Cable Modems and DSL modems; Cisco will release a corporate single box solution with all three, with 802.11N wireless with SIP enabled VoIP, firewall, NAC, and IDS/IPS for under $75.00... before Linksys releases the consumer solution.

What will most likely happen: Email becomes a commodity. Companies will be under pressure keep email to stay compliant with new regulations - so there will be an increase in demand for email archive/storage and security tools. What I wish would happen: One stop shopping for email management - not different products for mail delivery, spam, virus, archiving, security, etc. Low email maintenance overhead for corporate IT; lower TCO.

What will most likely happen: More IT people in the US would get good, high paying IT jobs...in the US.

What I wish would happen: More former IT people will enter nursing school.0
