Opsware Adds IT Process Automation With iConclude Acquisition

Opsware this week inked a $30 million deal to buy iConclude, a maker of software that automates the complicated processes that keep data centers running.

iConclude is one of three major vendors in IT process automation and Opsware is the vendor to beat in configuration management. Opsware already is the market leader in network-, system- and storage-configuration management and with the addition to a robust automation engine like iConclude, Opsware can offer customers an extremely broad solution to manage not only the configuration of critical network and system resources, but also extend well beyond that capability into broad automation of IT operations.

Opsware said the iConclude acquisition will give it an engine it can incorporate into its product suite to automate change management, compliance and process automation--all within a single IT management platform.
