Keeping Up with Evolving Wireless Technologies

Mobile demands in the enterprise are exploding with employees requiring anywhere, anytime access and a growing number of internet-connected devices. Enterprise WLAN pros are under tremendous pressure to ensure corporate WLANs support business demands. Moreover, wireless technology continues to evolve rapidly, with new WiFi protocols like 802.11ax looming on the horizon and Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS), an emerging small-cell technology, picking up steam.

At Interop ITX this spring, wireless expert Drew Lentz led a workshop in which he provided a comprehensive overview these new wireless technology developments. He also discussed WiFi site survey tools such as Ekahau, provided updates on WiFi equipment from Cisco, HPE Aruba, and others, and examined the latest WiFi monitoring technology. The presentation by Lentz, solutions architect at Frontera Consulting, was one of the three most highly rated workshops at this year's Interop ITX.
