Companies To Deliver FIPS Certified Secure Wi-Fi
Cranite Systems and Vivato plan to develop WiFi solutions that meet FIPS 140-2 standards.

Cranite Systems, Inc. and Vivato have formed a strategic partnership to deliver government-certified secured wireless networking solutions.
The collaboration links Cranite's FIPS 140-2-compliant wireless LAN security and authentication with the Vivato long-range Wi-Fi base station. According to officials, the Cranite WirelessWall solution provides security by operating deep in the network, encrypting more of the information that hackers might access to penetrate a network.
The Vivato 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Base Station extends Wi-Fi coverage through technology that directs Wi-Fi capacity to standard 802.11b clients via an electronically controlled,phased-array antenna. This architecture allows Vivato base stations to transmit high-gain wireless signals over a distance of 2.5 miles outdoors with direct line of sight, or shorter distances when obstructions exist.
In addition to meeting FIPS 140-2, Cranite's WirelessWall software gives users secure, real-time access to critical data and network resources.
