WiFi Phones: Not Yet Ready For Prime Time
You've spoken about WiFi phones, and what you have to say is abundantly clear - they're not yet ready for prime time.
In our Voting Booth over the last two weeks, we've asked whether you would buy WiFi phones if you can find them, whether you'd want to test them before deciding, or whether you've already decided not to deploy. The results are telling:
- Twenty percent would deploy them.
- Fifty percent said they first needed to test them.
- Thirty percent said they have no plans to deploy them.
We asked the identical question six months ago. The results:
- Twenty one percent would deploy them.
- Thirty five percent said they first needed to test them.
- Forty four percent said they have no plans to deploy them.
So in six months, there's been no change in the percent of enterprises who would deploy the phone. And while there's been an uptick in the percent of companies willing to consider them, it's far from a groundswell.
