Veraz Debuts Contact Center Voice-Compression Scheme

Veraz Networks today announced a call center network compression solution for multi-city and multi-country call centers that it claims cuts down on bandwidth requirements by more than 90%, increases voice capacity on IPLCs by over 1000%, and offers a Return on Investment (ROI) of less than six months.

The solution is aimed at reducing the high cost of international bandwidth when operating point-to-point communications between onshore and offshore contact centers. It is based on Veraz's I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways that the company claims delivers up to 12-to-1 voice compression ratio, allowing saving bandwidth costs while maintaining high-quality voice.

The solution also includes internal redundancy that guarantees the continuation of voice calls, fax and modem traffic under network or system failure.
