Search Partners To Harness Enterprise Blog Data

Enterprise blogs and their growing importance will be harnessed by a new partnership between search engine provider Fast Search & Transfer (Fast) and Traction Software, which provides enterprise blog software.

Announced Monday, the OEM partnership calls for Traction's TeamPage collaboration solution to be integrated with Fast's InStream enterprise search solution.

"Blogs are one of the fastest growing enterprise solutions and businesses are recognizing that the ability to easily find information contained within enterprise blogs is critical to improving worker productivity," said Ali I. Riaz, president of Fast Search, in a statement.

The collection of data from blogs and other user-developed information has been growing as companies realize the data can provide them with a wealth of early information on businesses-critical practices.

Traction's software can either plug directly into a user's existing IT infrastructure or it can stand alone on an intranet or extranet. The solution is designed to enable users to create, analyze, and share data including market research, competitive intelligence, corporate communications, and business development information.
