Infoblox's Data Integrates With VMware; Announces IF-MAP Server: Page 2 of 2

if-map.pngThe IF-MAP standard describes the protocols and format and basic server functionality for network devices to publish, update and subscribe to device information in a standardized format. The standard stops short of some critical features like access control and high availability. Infoblox's Orchestration Server has built in high availability to ensure that the server is always available. The Orchestration Server is a standalone appliance that doesn't run as part of the NiOS Grid. Orchestration server also contains a role based access control system that can define the actions that IF-MAP clients can perform, a topic that is addressed in the IF-MAP standards, but is not defined. The Orchestration server also has detailed event logging for auditing and troubleshooting and is list priced starting at $5,495.

Currently, the Orchestration Server only integrates with Infoblox's DHCP server and Juniper's Infranet Controller. Representatives from Infoblox said that integration was first since they had immediate demand, but other integration will be ongoing. For example, they are working on a roadmap to integrate all of the NiOS features like DNS and RADIUS as well as integration with the products acquired from Netcordia.
