Good Technology Aims Messaging Service At Lotus Domino Users

Some 125 million IBM Lotus Domino users will be able to use Good Technology's Mobile Messaging service with a wide variety of networks, according to an announcement Monday.

"We work on any network as long as it's an IP network," said Rick Osterloh, Good's vice president of products, in an interview. "And no training is required to be able to use it."

Good Mobile Messaging for IBM Lotus Domino, which also covers Lotus Notes users, includes two-way synchronization that addresses popular Lotus functions including e-mail, calendar, contracts, journals and to-do features.

The Good product operates with a variety of wireless technologies including CDMA and GPRS mobile phone networks and Wi-Fi networks.

"The potential user base is enormous," said Osterloh. "It's a safe bet that at least 80 percent (of Domino users) have a handset. Anyone familiar with Notes and Domino will recognize" the new Good software interface.
