Bandwidth.com Rolls Out National VoIP Service for SMBs

Internet provider Bandwidth.com announced the launch of a nationwide Voice over IP (VoIP) service targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. The company also signed a partnership agreement with backbone carrier Level 3 Communications, Inc. to provide the VoIP services.

Based on Level 3's platform, BandwidthVoice is a suite of hosted voice and data services aimed at small and midsized businesses. The service can connect all company employees and remote locations in a single dialing plan, reducing costs by up to 40 per cent, according to Bandwidth.com officials. BandwidthVoice offers simplified point-and-click management by browser or wireless device.

The service offers standard PBX-type features, such as local and long-distance calling and voicemail, as well as advanced functions including audio and Web conferencing and a find me/follow me locator. BandwidthVoice also provides a unified messaging feature integrating voicemail, e-mail and fax and offers a plug-in to Microsoft Outlook.

"The launch of Bandwidth.com BandwidthVoice enables us to serve business customers with a complete internet, local, and long distance solution with enterprise grade features, guaranteed levels of service and for only a fraction of current costs," said Bandwidth.com president David Morken said in a statement.
