There's a new Linux magazine in town catering to the more technical crowd, called Wide Open Linux. Sure it's published by Red Hat, and sure it will contain much marketing hype/fodder for Red Hat software, certification, and such, but if it can provide the useful chops for both professionals and enthusiasts, who cares.
