Spirent Sets Up IPv6 Test Center

Spirent Federal has teamed up with Innofone.com's training division, v6 Transition, to set up an IPv6 test center in the Washington D.C. area.

Under an Office and Management and Budget (OMB) memorandum, all government agencies must transition their network infrastructures to IPv6 by 2008. The test center to be jointly operated by Spirent and v6 Transition will provide these agencies and their private sector contractor with the test equipment and engineering staff with the appropriate security clearance to ensure IPv6 capability.

"The alliance with v6 Transition fits with our growth strategy of pursuing relationships that give us a further outlet for our proven IPv6 test solutions, and it complements our core business," Spirent Federal president Ellen Hall said in a statement. "Our goal is for Spirent Federal to be synonymous with government testing. This alliance clearly helps us toward that goal."
