BOSTON -- Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management (SSM), and Network Appliance, Inc., (NASDAQ:NTAP), today announced the interoperability of its SANscreen storage service management software with NetApp FAS (Fabric-Attached Storage) systems. The joint solution will enable customers to gain visibility into and easily manage the different storage services supporting their mission-critical enterprise applications.
With SANscreen, NetApp FAS customers are able to achieve real-time feedback that all the devices in their FC SAN infrastructure are working together to meet the services required by their applications, in turn allowing customers to verify the present level of storage service, record and analyze past levels, and predict the future level. Plus NetApp customers running SANscreen can improve capacity planning, reduce provisioning times, eliminate defects, reduce trouble shooting time, and enable meeting audit and compliance requirements for their FC SAN environment.
"This joint solution addresses a major pain point for our enterprise customers -- SAN service management from Onaro combined with NetApp SAN solutions improves business responsiveness, application availability, and operational efficiencies in the data center," said Patrick Rogers, vice president of Solutions Marketing at Network Appliance. "We are excited to be working with Onaro as we continue to grow our market share in FC SAN."
"Onaro's storage service management solutions address the growing challenges IT organizations face aligning storage services to application requirements," said Assaf Levy, vice president, product management, Onaro, Inc. "By providing support for NetApp FAS, we are extending Onaro's storage service management solution to NetApp's growing and vibrant FC SAN customer base."
