FREMONT, Calif. -- 3PAR, the leading provider of Utility Storage, announced today the appointment of Mark Jung, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Fox Interactive Media, to 3PARs Board of Directors. Jung has joined 3PAR as an independent outside board member and will head the board’s nominating and governance committee. Jung will leverage his 17 years as a successful Internet CEO and entrepreneur to help guide 3PAR through the company's next phase of business growth and worldwide expansion.
“3PAR is a company with the right mix of success factors to enable high growth and expansion,” said Mark Jung. “A disruptive industry-changing technology, an experienced management team and outstanding customer focus are what make small companies get big fast. 3PAR has it all. I am looking forward to helping 3PAR through the next phase of growth.”
Jung will draw on his experience as COO of Fox Interactive Media, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of all its properties--including MySpace.com, IGN Entertainment, FoxSports.com, Scout Media, and AmericanIdol.com. Prior to Fox Interactive Media, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of IGN Entertainment, a leading Internet media and services company for video gaming and other forms of digital entertainment. Mark led IGN’s sale to NewsCorp, the parent company of Fox Interactive Media, for $650 million in October 2005. Prior to joining IGN, Mark was the co-founder and CEO of Worldtalk Corporation, an Internet security company that he took public in 1996 and which has since merged with Tumbleweed Communications.
“Mark’s combined experience as a successful entrepreneur and Fortune 500 executive with News Corp. is invaluable to 3PAR,” said David Scott, President and CEO of 3PAR. “We are pleased to welcome him to the board. His experience will help guide 3PAR towards our goal of becoming the next major storage platform company of the twenty-first century.”
