Enterasys Names CTO
ANDOVER, Mass. -- Enterasys Networks(R), the Secure Networks Company(TM), today announced the promotion of Leon Woo to executive vice president and chief technology officer. Woo, who had been executive vice president of engineering since 2003, will focus on the long-term product and technology direction of the company.
"Leon is one of the great visionaries in the networking industry," said Mark Stone, president of operations for The Gores Group, LLC, a leader of the private investment group that owns Enterasys. "We are building a company that puts customers first in our goal to become their favorite vendor. Leon will focus on the company's product and technology direction by leveraging Enterasys' deep portfolio of intellectual property and global patents. He also will identify targeted technology acquisition opportunities."
Woo will work closely with Chris Crowell, the company's new executive vice president of research and development, who is responsible for the company's engineering activities (see separate news release).
"I am very enthusiastic about defining Enterasys' technology vision as CTO," said Woo. "I feel that a future product and technology direction must be backed by a clear product and solutions roadmap. I look forward to working with Chris and our outstanding engineering team to deliver solutions on time and on budget that meet or exceed our customers' expectations."
