  • Selling Carlson on the IP SAN: It was part of a global storage strategy. The disk expense will be recovered from savings in the maintenance costs of the old EMC Corp. disk. The Nishan IP Storage Switch leveraged our current IP infrastructure.
  • Next Time I Build a SAN, I Will: Have more involvement with the engineers so I can understand the necessary testing before I request funding.
  • Job Perks: Working for a privately held company, and therefore looking at long-term results rather than the next quarterly earnings statement. This lets me get out of the box and make recommendations that will bring real value to the company.
  • My Next Career: I'm hoping I won't have a next career.
