SWsoft Gets DB2 Certification

HERNDON, Va. -- Enterprises running IBM DB2 9 data server software can add the power of virtualization to help improve flexibility and increase utilization rates in the data center, with the assurance that SWsoft Virtuozzo interacts and operates with IBM DB2 9 software.

Virtuozzo operating system (OS) server virtualization software has passed IBM's high standards of testing and validation for DB2 9 and has achieved "Ready for IBM DB2 data server software" status.

"Our operating system server virtualization product is uniquely qualified to handle database and business intelligence workloads because of its low overhead and highly scalable architecture," said Serguei Beloussov, CEO, SWsoft. "IBMs rigorous testing process assures customers they can put the full power of Virtuozzo technology to work on their production servers."

According to Boris Bialek, program director IBM DB2 competitive technologies, "SWsoft Virtuozzo helps to enable the virtualization of IBM DB2 data server based solutions with no performance overhead penalty and can be used to consolidate IBM DB2 databases onto fewer physical servers."
