SGI Deploys Ice Cube Modular Data Center for i/o Data Centers

FREMONT, Calif., and Phoenix, Ariz. - May 26, 2009 - SGI announced today that it recently shipped its ICE Cube modular data center to i/o Data Centers, a leading colocation and data center services provider based in Phoenix, Arizona, to address i/o clients' evolving data center needs. The ICE Cube is secured, powered and connected to i/o Data Centers' network.

Located at i/o Data Centers' 538,000-square-foot Phoenix ONE facility, ICE Cube provides high-density server and storage capacity in 20' and 40' ISO shipping containers, and has capacity for up to 2,800 independent servers, 22,400 cores or 11 Petabytes of storage. i/o Data Centers supplies a secure, reliable infrastructure for the ICE Cube that includes conditioned power, temperature-controlled space and network connectivity.
