ServerEngines For Sale? A New Land Grab May Be In Play: Page 2 of 2

Will the evolving dynamics of ServerEngines' ownership stifle Emulex's CNA plans? It certainly could have an impact. Will a sale of ServerEngines to LSI inflict a fatal blow to Emulex? There is no doubt that LSI (or any other potential buyer of ServerEngines) would not want to continue a long term relationship with Emulex, or any other potential competitor. This has the potential to be the event that kick-starts Emulex into in-house design and development, but from a market timing perspective, can they move fast enough to catch up to Brocade and QLogic, who are moving forward rapidly in this market segment?  One thing is clear:  an acquisition of ServerEngines will have impact on its current customers.

In upcoming blogs we're gong to take a closer look at each of the key players in this space: Broadcom, Brocade, Emulex, Intel, QLogic and ServerEngines.  We will pull back the curtain and inspect each one, taking a look at the upside of each company and some of the challenges they face moving into 2010 and beyond. If you would like me to add connectivity vendor to this list go ahead and comment with your suggestion and I will consider their addition. Also, I updated the Analytico FCoE Market Dynamic chart and have included it in this blog.
