Moonwalk Used at Stanford

MILTON, Australia -- Moonwalk Inc., the Australian developer of all-inclusive data protection and management software, announced today that Stanford University is using Moonwalk 6.0 software to realize significant gains through the reduction of expensive primary storage and better overall management of its storage.

Stanford University, one of the worlds leading research universities and Silicon Valley’s largest employers, supports nearly 20,000 students. The Controller’s Office of the University realized that it needed to improve its data management, reduce its backup window, limit its primary storage and enhance compliance and reporting — all in a mixed environment that includes Novell Netware.

“Stanford must respond to increasingly complex and demanding data lifecycle mandates,” said Horace Greeley of the Stanford Controller’s Office Information Systems Group. “Having surveyed the field and found nothing that met our needs, we were delighted to discover the tremendous versatility and power that Moonwalk’s innovative approach afforded.”
