Marathon v-Available Expands

LITTLETON, Mass. -- Marathon Technologies Corporation, the only provider of fault-tolerant, high availability software for physical and virtual servers today announced that its v-Available Channel Partner Program is gaining strong acceptance in the rapidly expanding virtualization market. So far this year, Marathon has added over 100 channel partners globally into the v-Available Program. Aimed at exploiting a lack of effective availability technology for server virtualization, the program qualifies resellers as experts in integrating fault-tolerant, high availability software into virtual server environments. The channel program is a key component of Marathon’s broader v-Available initiative, designed to provide companies of all sizes with effective high availability software for server virtualization.

The company’s channel program momentum comes at critical time for the mainstream adoption of server virtualization, which has achieved a less than ten percent deployment rate on x86 servers to date, according to leading analyst firm IDC. Through the v-Available program, Marathon and its partners are eliminating one of the major barriers to broader server virtualization adoption – the lack of reliable high availability for virtual servers – and providing customers with the assurance that critical data, networks and applications will be protected in both physical and virtual server environments.

“Many of our customers deploying server virtualization have expressed interest in virtualizing more business critical applications,” said Jay Patterson, Director of Sales at Integrated IT Solutions, Waltham, MA. “But up until this point they have not had a viable solution that provides the rock-solid availability needed to confidently run essential applications in virtual machines. By combining our expertise in access infrastructure solutions with Marathon’s fault-tolerant, high availability software, we can now provide midsized and larger companies with automated, reliable protection for critical applications running on virtual servers.”
