GlassHouse Acquires RapidApp

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- GlassHouse Technologies, the leading independent IT infrastructure consulting and services firm, today announced it has acquired Chicago-based server virtualization consulting company RapidApp. In addition to server virtualization, the acquisition extends GlassHouses offerings into virtual storage, virtual desktop infrastructure, and application delivery and deployment services. As a result, GlassHouse customers will benefit from deeper infrastructure management services and consulting throughout their organizations.

Founded in 1999 by CEO Mitch Northcutt and Vice President Rob Koury, RapidApp built its reputation by helping Fortune 500 and mid-market companies minimize project costs and compress timeframes for deploying applications and their supporting infrastructure. Employing its proprietary RapidDeploy™ process, RapidApp consultants assist in the design and deployment of some of the largest computing infrastructures in the United States, including server virtualization projects and the virtual infrastructure that supports them.

“Our clients have increasingly asked us to use the same process and approach we use in their storage and backup environments to help optimize their server environments, and this acquisition fulfills that customer need,” said Mark Shirman, president and CEO of GlassHouse Technologies. “RapidApp’s expertise in server virtualization as well as its proven processes for implementation enhances our own TransomSM methodology for transforming IT infrastructure to a service provider model. We are very pleased to be adding this expertise, as well as the professionals that make it happen, to the GlassHouse family.”
