SALT LAKE CITY -- Fusion-io, a leading provider of enterprise solid-state technology and high-performance I/O solutions, today announced that the company is working with IBM to dramatically accelerate data access performance in IBMs clustered storage systems. The two companies have adapted Fusion-io's enterprise SSD technology for “Project Quicksilver,” demonstrating increased data access performance and reduced power consumption, while dramatically reducing latency and bottlenecks that tend to be compounded in today’s high transaction and virtualized environments.

"IBM's choice to use our solution to increase the performance of their world-class storage systems validates our ioMemory technology as the leading enterprise solid-state architecture," said Don Basile, CEO of Fusion-io. "We are excited to work with IBM as they develop their next generation storage solutions that will not only increase performance for a broad range of applications and workloads, but also improve the effectiveness and power efficiency of next generation data centers.”
