SAN JOSE, Calif. -- BendBroadband, a privatelyowned, nationally recognized cable operator, has deployed a storage areanetwork (SAN) based on Cisco(R) (NASDAQ: CSCO)technology to improve customerservice, reduce operating costs, and improve application performance. Toaddress the performance, reliability, and scalability requirements of itsgrowing business, the company upgraded its network-attached storage to a SANbased on Cisco storage network fabric switches.

After researching the switchchoices available, the cable operator selected Cisco MDS fabric switchesbecause of reliability, support, compatibility with a wide range of storagedevices, and a belief that Cisco is emerging as the market leader in storagenetworking technology. The new Cisco-based SAN has enabled the company tokeep up with fast-paced growth, allowed them to expand their serviceofferings to business customers, and provided the capability for disasterrecovery.
