AMHERST, N.Y. -- ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, announced today that its Celerity 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel host adapters have been qualified for use with HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVA) as a high-availability Enterprise storage solution for the MacR market. This solution is designed to enhance workflows and increase productivity by keeping content available in real time for multiple users.

ATTO, a pioneering developer of storage solutions for the Apple market, has created a specialized Fibre Channel driver to allow path failover capabilities to HP's EVA storage solution. In addition to continuous data protection, the solution is robust enough to support the throughput demands put forth by today's high-end video applications. It is also scalable across multiple workstations in a shared Fibre Channel SAN. The ATTO Celerity FC-42XS and Celerity FC-42ES host adapters provide dual-channel PCI-X and PCI-Express Fibre Channel connectivity to the HP EVA through a Fibre Channel switch. A custom driver, developed by ATTO for use with Celerity host adapters, allows the Apple OS high-availability connections to the EVA, ensuring maximum bandwidth to each controller.ATTO's years ofdigital media industry experience with high-bandwidth environments ensures that Celerity host adapters are tuned for optimal performance.

The combination of ATTO's Fibre Channel host adapters and HP's EVA offers a completely redundant video production solution, focused on minimizing down-time. The result is a significant increase in productivity due to uninterrupted access to the storage media. This storage solution for media also supports a multiple workstation Storage Area Network (SAN) environment with Apple's Xsan or Quantum's StorNext software used as the shared-file system. Video production houses that use various tools, running on different operating systems, now have the opportunity to collaborate workflows and connect to the HP EVA in a highly-available and redundant SAN.

"The combined capabilities of ATTO's Celerity host adapters and HP's Enterprise Virtual Array meets customer's demands for high-availability and high-performance requirements,"states Timothy Klein, president and CEO of ATTO Technology. "Qualification of our Celerity host adapters with the HP EVA reinforces ATTO's role in delivering leading storage infrastructure solutions."
