IBM has teamed with Freelancer (a site like Fiverr and others that lets freelancers bid on jobs) to launch a contest aimed at developers to create an application that generates graphical views of IBM Cloud resources. The contest is driven by a real-world need. Running complex applications in multiple environments in IBM Cloud can be a daunting task. There are multiple dimensions that are difficult to visualize. Users need to instantly identify what is running, the particular network or resource group it is running in, and the specific cloud accounts being used. To that end, the contest’s objective is to design an application (deployed in a container) that can produce several graphical views of IBM Cloud resources. The top entry will win $10,000. The next two runners up will receive $2,500 each.

Moogsoft announced the availability of the Moogsoft Observability Cloud. The Moogsoft Observability Cloud extends AI-based intelligence to raw observability data. It turns metric and event data into actionable insights by automating anomaly detection, surfacing important alerts, and correlating everything together. This provides teams better visibility about their services, advanced warning of potential outages, and context about the incidents which cause them. With this information, DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) teams can more efficiently collaborate, learn, improve, and innovate their services.

Infoworks.io, a provider of Enterprise Data Operations and Orchestration (EDO2) systems, announced the availability of Infoworks DataFoundry for Databricks in AWS Marketplace, a digital catalog with thousands of software listings from independent software vendors that make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software that runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Infoworks DataFoundry automates data operations and data orchestration for developing and managing data workflows in hybrid, cloud, and multi-cloud environments. The comprehensive power of Infoworks DataFoundry allows enterprises to easily and rapidly onboard, prepare, and operationalize data while dramatically reducing the time and skill level needed to launch analytics use cases.

KIOXIA America, Inc. (formerly Toshiba Memory America, Inc.) announced the expansion of its portfolio of client, enterprise, and data center SSDs with the addition of the XD6 Series. KIOXIA’s E1.S form factor XD6 SSDs are Enterprise and Datacenter SSD Form Factor (EDSFF) E1.S SSDs designed to address the specific requirements of hyperscale applications, including the performance, power, and thermal requirements of the Open Compute Platform (OCP) NVMe Cloud SSD Specification. The KIOXIA's EDSFF E1.x SSDs represent the future of flash storage for servers in cloud and hyperscale data centers. As defined by the EDSFF consortium and leveraging the OCP NVMe Cloud SSD Specification, the flexible, efficient, small form factor E1.S replaces the M.2 form factor and delivers greater density, performance, reliability, and thermal management. E1.S is also designed to be hot-pluggable for increased serviceability, which is another benefit over M.2.

Exxact Corporation announced the expansion of its portfolio of high-end storage with offerings from DDN. Exxact is partnering with DDN to meet the ever-increasing requirements of today's enterprise, where end-users can greatly benefit by adopting DDN's high-performance storage solutions for end-to-end data management, from data creation and persistent storage to active archives and the cloud. Exxact will offer multiple DDN Storage Solutions, including all-flash solutions (DDN SFA200NVX and SFA400NVX), scale-up, and scale-out hybrid flash storage appliance (DDN SFA7990X), and DDN’s flagship appliance (DDN SFA18KX).

CoolIT Systems, a provider of direct liquid cooling technology (DLC) for desktop and data center systems, announced continued participation with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) on multiple liquid cooling programs. Building on a strong foundation and history of cooperation, HPE and CoolIT have renewed their commitment to collaborate on future liquid cooling designs for the HPE Cray EX supercomputers.

Raritan, a brand of Legrand, and a provider of intelligent data center management and rack power distribution solutions, announced the release of its Smart Rack Controller (SRC). The new offering addresses facility and data center management requirements to gather environmental information around IT devices through connected SmartSensors, as well as security conditions on rack door handles and card readers—without the need to significantly reconfigure power distribution or IT infrastructure to obtain visibility and alerts.
