SEATTLE -- Isilon® Systems (Nasdaq: ISLN), the leader in clustered storage, today announced that Discovery Communications, Inc. is using Isilon IQ clustered storage as a central repository for media content, which is delivered to more than 100 networks, reaching 1.5 billion cumulative subscribers in more than 170 countries and territories. With Isilon IQ, Discovery is able consolidate its video-on-demand (VOD) and DVD content, as well as content restored from its tape archive, into one, easily expandable pool of always-online content storage, enabling instant, 24x7, configuration and delivery of media through its multiple distribution channels including broadcast, video on-demand and the Internet.
