SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced the appointment of Mark Bauhaus to the position of executive vice president and general manager, service layer technology. Most recently an executive-level technology consultant, Mr. Bauhaus joins Juniper Networks following 20 years at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where he served as senior vice president, service oriented architecture software.

Mr. Bauhaus will lead Juniper Networks' service layer technology business group, with responsibility for the company's security, application acceleration, unified access control and enterprise routing product lines.
Mr. Bauhaus will report directly to Mr. Elop.
