Apple Offers 1GB iPod Nano For $149

Apple Computer unveiled a 1GB iPod nano for $149 Tuesday, filling out its flash memory-based nano family on the low price end.

At the same time, the firm said it was lowering prices on its iPod shuffle to $69 for the 512 MB model and $99 for the 1GB model.

Apple has sold more than 40 million of its iPod music players, which connect seamlessly with Apple's iTunes Music Store and iTunes digital music jukebox.

"(The) iPod nano includes Apple's patent-pending Auto-Sync technology that automatically downloads a user's digital music collection photos or podcasts onto iPod nano and keeps it up-to-date whenever iPod nano is plugged into a Mac or Windows computer using USB 2.0," the firm's announcement said.

Apple said the 1GB iPod nano is available immediately at its Web site and from its retail stores and authorized resellers.
