Trapeze Announces 802.11n Access Point--With a Difference: Page 2 of 2

Trapeze said it will submit the MP-432 to Wi-Fi Alliance 802.11n draft 2.0 testing when it gets underway next month. The system is also compatible with existing 802.3af Power over Ethernet standards.

Most significantly, according to the vendor, the access point works with existing WLAN controllers, rather than requiring a central controller, which lets IT deploy an 802.11n-enabled wireless network without having to rip and replace existing wireless gear.

Trapeze also touted its RingMaster RF planning tools, which it says are crucial for mimimizing RF conflicts that may occur with the addition of higher-powered 802.11n access points into legacy wireless networks.
