Apple Splashes Color On The iPod Shuffle

Apple on Tuesday made its smallest iPod more colorful.

The Cuptertino, Calif., company released the Shuffle in blue, pink, green, and orange, giving iPod fans splashier choices than the original silver. The Shuffle is about the size of a matchbook, and has a built-in clip for attaching the device to clothing. Weighing about a half ounce, Apple markets the $79 device as its "most wearable iPod."

Apple unveiled the Shuffle last September, making it available in retail stores the following month. While fancy colors are not a major feature enhancement, they do make the device more stylish for fashion-conscious teenagers and young adults. The iPod product line accounts for more than three-fourths of the global market for digital music players.
