Signate Announces Hosted PBX Solution For VoIP Providers

Signate has announced a hosted private branch exchange (PBX) software solution for IP telephony providers serving up to 3,000 subscribers.

SigMAN SP is designed to support remote and satellite offices and mobile workers with remote voice over IP (VoIP) extensions. Installed on a Linux server, it provides a partitioned software PBX that allows providers to deploy advanced telephony services at low cost. Subscribers can self-manage their own partitions to function as their own dedicated telephone systems, offering auto attendants, hold music, operators, call queues, audio conference rooms, hunt groups, voice mail and call detail reporting.

The software also features an optional hot failover feature that allows the system to function from another server in the event of system failure. Signate provides all-hours support around the world.

"Every Signate product has a foundation of industry standard hardware and open source software so it can deliver roughly twice the performance of proprietary products at half the cost," Signate Chief Executive Officer William Boehlke said in a statement. "SigMAN SP delivers advanced functionality to service provider customers for an initial investment of around $10 per user."

The solution's system requirements include an x86-based Linux server or Signate's own Telephony Server 5000 equipped with a PCI board or external gateway to connect the PBX to the public switched telephone network.
