The package consists of 10Gb/s InfiniBand adapters, cables and switches and is priced to bring supercomputer performance to mainstream applications such as multi player gaming, automotive, oil and gas, education, engineering and more.
As CPU multi-core technology becomes the natural building block for every compute system, be they servers or workstations, the associated increase in I/O requirements mandate the use of high-throughput interconnects. Low-throughput I/O restricts CPU performance and reduces the overall systems capabilities, resulting in long simulation run-time, waste of educational learning time, poor digital media or end-user gaming experience.
