ooVoo and Deep Blue Communications Announce Partnership to Bring Video Conferencing Service to Wireless Customers

NEW YORK (BUSINESS WIRE) ooVoo, a web-based video conferencing service with 16 million users, today announced a partnership with Deep Blue Communications to market and support Internet users in lodging and hospitality, recreation and other out-of-office locations in the U.S. Launched in mid October, this collaboration will enhance the wireless Internet experience at more than 40,000 hotel rooms in 46 states, and give Deep Blue customers easy access to high quality video conferencing powered by ooVoo.

ooVoo's quality advantage over Skype was recently documented in an independent research study that showed ooVoo was preferred by 8 out of 10 Skype users who cited superior sound and video quality among the reasons they favored ooVoo for a better communication experience.

Hotel guests can connect with family, friends and colleagues from a banner link on the welcome page at all participating hotels. With a couple of simple clicks, hotel guests get step-by-step instructions on how to download ooVoo software, sign-up and start the video chat capability from their laptop computer. Existing ooVoo users will now have peace of mind knowing that ooVoo has been certified to work at every Deep Blue Communications location across the country. ooVoo's product features include video conferencing with up to six people simultaneously, text chat with contacts during video calls and desktop sharing of documents and files.

"The partnership of Deep Blue and ooVoo brings compelling value and unique services to consumers and businesses that are supported by our wired and wireless networks," said Ryan Donnelly, Chief Operating Officer at Deep Blue. "As we engineer, install and support Wi-Fi networks across the U.S., we look for ways to leverage our expertise and deliver benefits that differentiate us from competition. We believe this partnership with ooVoo will help us meet and exceed customer expectations."

The launch will rollout to Deep Blue customers across a broad portfolio including hotels/timeshares, apartments/condos, marinas, recreational vehicle resorts and restaurants/retail locations with the largest impact initially in lodging and hospitality.
