Will They Make It? The Perfect Presentation: Page 2 of 2

Now that we are three slides into the presentation, maybe four, let's
get into the meat of how you are going to solve their problem. Can I
have it in pictures? We live in a world where interruptions are a way
of life. Remember when it was considered rude to check email during a
conversation? Now it is acceptable meeting interruption. You have to
give the listener something they can easily return to and re-engage
with if they get interrupted. I find that graphics are easier to come
back to.

These are just the basic components of the perfect presentation. There
are pages more that could be written. The key is to keep it short,
simple and to the point. From a buyer perspective, as you are trying to
decide if a company will make it, the crispness of this initial
conversation should give you some insight. If you feel a 70 page
presentation coming on, then ask the presenter to stop first and tell you the information that I am asking for on the first slide. It
will give you some additional clues into their viability and may save
you a few hours of time.
