Still Gear6 is a fairly unknown quantity. It currently has three announced (and impressive) customers, one each in financial services, energy and animation. We're told it currently has "a few dozen" customers in total - so while the idea bears merit, you'll want to try before you buy. And if it works as well as advertised, it's a reasonably safe bet that an EMC, HP IBM or NetApp might like the technology for their own.
